Would This Work?

Podcasting does not generally have anything to do with recording on an iPod. The only way I know to record on an iPod is to use the horrible Griffin iTalk thingy, or install Linux.

iTalk sounds like mud. I have one. It's main application would allow a user to record every single one of their college lectures... for all four years of college... on a single iPod Photo. I think that's really neat. But, that's only possible because the quality is on par with AM radio.

Podcasting is different, of course. There, they aren't recording on an iPod, instead, you're listening on an iPod. Podcasts are still produced in studios. They can sound like a CD when done right, as many of them all are... Actually, it's kind of hard to mess one up come to think of it!

yeah. people don't record on iPods. They will usually use some sort of low cost recorder (like an Edirol R1, or something like that), and then compress the audio for the podcast.
