I keep watching all of these canon 7d videos and the footage is amazing. I was considering selling my HVX200a and redrock package and using that money to buy a 7D some lenses and then still have some extra cash. I am primarily a DP and use my own gear (HVX) would this be a dumb move?

Probably better posted in the 7D forum...by people who have actually used the camera and can vouch for its strengths and weakness'. Also take a look at Barry's article on DSLRs and aliasing.

That is a question no one can answer. It depends on if you need an HVX200a or not.

I would say, given what I see on your site, a 7D "in addition" to your HVX200, not in place of.

I'd go with a 5D as most 7Ds have been teturned due to overheating. It'd be hard to go wrong with a Red camera too.
