"Loose cable" yeah....... They found something bad by opening a portal into the future. Something that will change the universe as we know it. Eloi and Morloch bad.

Of course, it does give me new choices for dating, so not ALL bad. Yeah, it's been a while........getting desperate.

Here's another update.

I don't think it's really incompetence from what the title of this thread suggests. CERN is probably one of, if not THE MOST complex machine we've ever built in the history of human kind. I'm not surprised something as simple as a loose wire can cause issues. This isn't a loose computer plug making you scratch your head wondering why your computer won't turn on. This is more like finding a needle in haystack. I think the fact that they found the loose wire is a testament to how 'smart' they are.

It's almost expected to have a few hiccups this early on. That's why immediately they assumed the FTL experiment must have been a mistake, and they investigated (and still are).
