World Trade Center

On a different note. As I've made clear in many posts, I don't think N. Cage is much of an actor. Over-actor, oh, yeah. But seeing the preview of this movie, I might be forced to at least partially reassess. I haven't seen a hint of overacting in the tv spots I've seen. Perhaps he's maturing...or maybe he's getting some direction.

it looks like a good movie and all, i just think that any money made off of it should be donated. cage does seem like he's going to be good in it. michael pena was great in crash and looks good in this too...

This movie was uninspiring, irrational (as in without reason) senseless (as in it makes no sense) and full of ****. It was made to show another side of 9/11, the side of how humans can all be good to each other when placed in a dire situation. Spiderman 1&2 inspired that in me more than this movie, no joke. Maybe people are all into the drama and slomo, forget the special effects and forget about how this is about us coming together... this movie was like passion of the christ, 2 hrs of watching someone without a real story just to fill space while other stuff happens that is supposed to make you cringe.
Of course this s a matter of opinion but my proof is in the dialouge and the visualization... the two ways to tell a story and neither were there. Just my 2 cents.
I'll say it again, the only movie out there that has truly commemorated the dead and their families is United 93.

I'm not sure what wrong with that. As I remember, there was a lot of that going around at the time.

No, sorry blaine. What I meant was it was meant to do that, but didnt succeed in my opinion at least. The very last scene where all the faces are hovering over cage is ok, yet the movie should been emphasizing it from the very begining. Instead I felt people were faking it for oliver's sake.

Just saw this movie on Saturday night in the dome cinerama theater at the Hollywood Arclight and WOW!! From the beginning to end, you really travel through the lives of these 2 men and feel everything that they feel. The cinematography is outstanding, a lot of close up shots are used to help intensify everything. You have to go into this movie with the right frame of mind and know that you will cry, no matter how "manly" you think are. This movie will touch everyone's heart and you will leave the theatre in silence. This movie doesn’t really reflect upon the horror and evilness of the attack, but really emphasizes how everyone came together as a country and helped save these people’s lives. It’s a tale of heroism if anything and really makes you proud to be an American, and for me really made me realize that the Marines are ****ing badass. They don’t take no for an answer and they will do whatever it takes to help save lives. Even though the story of that one Marine seamed a little cheesy at first, I completely changed my mind later.

This a am amazing movie to go see, be prepared to cry, and its definitely going to win a lot of Oscars.

Spoiler-ish

Spoiler-ish

I watch alot of movies but don't pick them apart as a rule or claim to be a great film critic. These are just my sincere thoughts on WTC as I am still trying to wrap my mind around this movie.

I saw this yesterday and thought it was incredible. I suppose i expected them to tell the story as we knew it. But instead it showed the day's events from a completely different point of view. The sense of chaos and disbelief at what was happening. Even the perspective of being down on the ground level with the towers right overhead. I usually only see pictures of the towers burning from quite a distance. This film puts you RIGHT THERE in the thick of it. The fact that the main characters didn't know that the buildings had fallen or even that the second plane had hit, was mind blowing. I felt like - How could you not know? At the beginning when it shows the shadow of the first plane go by, i put my hand over my mouth in complete horror and moved literally to the edge of my seat. I didn't move again until the movie was over. I am sure there will be alot of movies about September 11th. It is too huge of a story to be told in 2 hours. So many people effected. So many lives lost. And this movie is just one of many perspectives on how it all happened. I appreciated that this film was not pro or anti war, it wasn't bashing our current administration. It wasn't even bashing the people who master-minded the attack. It was telling the story with just the facts. I think the timing is excellent. Alot of American's have forgotten. All the flags have been taken down. We're all back at each other's throats. This story deserves to be told now, and tomorrow and as often as necessary so that we don't EVER forget.

I think it is impossible to forget. I only think this story needs to be told in order for people to know why this things happened. Life ain't no Western, with clear good guys and bad guys.

September 11th movies are good to make people think about the World and not only the U.S, about globalization and the way our World is evolving. Doing a September 11 movie about the people experiencing the event is a good call. Its a movie that's very close to the event itself, but far away from the causes and consequences of the said event...
