World of Warcraft

I was at my friends the other day and he showed me this game called World of Warcraft. It was just unbelievable what games can do these days...I mean I know its not new...Everquest was probably one of the first, but seeing this new game - how you can interact inside this whole virtual world...with people from all over the real world in real time...and I was going gaga

Thankfully I did not buy this game because it would just kill me. My friend was telling me how he spends 16 hours a day playing this game, and now hes all skinny cause he doesnt eat

Re: World of Warcraft

I have never gotten into these types of RPG's. Walking around a virtual world on quests or building character is boring to me. Now give me a SAW and some terrorists trying to take over my desert base and now youre talking!

bf2 !!!

Re: World of Warcraft

I've been trippin on COD lately; missing air support though but a nice WW2 addition

Re: World of Warcraft

Have you tried halo 2?

I'm pretty sure Halo 2 is the sole reason that my current film is still in production. :-/ Still, I wouldn't trade the Master Chief for anything. ;D

Re: World of Warcraft

It really is amazing what we can do these days. I'm not a huge fan of online RPGs like that because they tend to rely on building characters more than actual interacting in a natural and meaningful way.

I do like strategy games though. Great stuff. I was hooked on WCIII for a while. Great game if I might say so. I try to avoid computer games these days though. I find they steal too much time from my life and don't return anything meaningful. Fun but damn you wonder ok so what's life about again?

FPS are fun but only for so long. I would much, much, rather be out shooting someone for REAL (with a paintball or airsoft gun) rather than digitally. It takes much more skill and gives the biggest adrenaline rush you will ever feel. Nothing like putting yourself mentally and physically on the line, pitted against other thinking humans.

Re: World of Warcraft

:D

Indeed! Computer games do have some advantages I must say though. You won't find a bunch of paintball tanks or legions of Nazis to take on!

I love games that pit people against each other mentally and physically. I don't know why. I just find it fascinating. I just wish I had a better weapon! Geez there are so many things to spend money on....

Re: World of Warcraft

HEHE, I had to give up on WoW myself. I've always been a fan of RPG's but never really got into the grind that most MMORPG's offer. I played WoW and realized that Blizzard had made a MMORPG that casual gamers can play (those who cannot spend 16 hours a day playing) and still stay competitive with other characters. Anyway, I realized that it would consume me if i continued to play so I dropped it after the free month. You know it's got you when all you think about is searching for copper/tin veins so you can get your blacksmithing skill to the next level and make that new Axe :)

Re: World of Warcraft

haha MMO's are so addictive.. spent whole grade 9 playing Asheron's Call... or known as Asheron's Crack

it's funny becuase you pay every month to not have a healthy, sleepful, social life...
thank god rehabilitation got me to where I am

Re: World of Warcraft

I've heard stories about people becoming addicted to RPG's. I vaguely remember seeing a doc about it, it was pretty creepy. Picture someone's mom at the computer and in the background there's dirty laundry everywhere, and dishes with mold and rotting food.

Re: World of Warcraft

people die in Asia - they call them "PC Bangs" or game cafes...where they have networks with nothing but games - Starcraft, counterstrike...and they serve food there too! albeit bad food, instant ramen, sodas....bad ventialation as well...reports of this one guy in korea who played for two days straight, no food, no water, and then he just died...collapsed and died...

Re: World of Warcraft

yup, i heard of that also. they said he had a stroke because he was sitting down so long and his blood circulation was getting blocked...sort of like what they warn you of when you're on long plane flights.

Re: World of Warcraft

**** man! im gonna get a stroke myself if i dont haul my ass away from the computer from time to time!!

EDIT
Hudson - in your case its haul ur ass away from dvxuser from time to time ;)
