Workshops for Directors

Can anyone recommend a good one or two week workshop for filmmakers? Or a short course somehwere (I live in upstate New York)? I am a historian and new to documentary filmmaking. I am in post production for my first film. But what I am most interested in, probably for sometime during the summer, is a workshop where I can meet with other people trying to do the same thing as me. Where we can discuss our ideas together. Also, where there will be more advanced people, who can provide their advice.

The ultimate directors workshop is the Sundance Directors Lab held in June at the Sundance Institute in Utah.
