Workshop for Filmmakers

(I posted this a few days ago in the filmmaking category, but didn't get any replies. Sorry for the re-post.)

Can anyone recommend a good one or two week workshop for filmmakers? Or a short course somehwere (I live in upstate New York)? I am a historian and new to documentary filmmaking. I am in post production for my first film. But what I am most interested in, probably for sometime during the summer, is a workshop where I can meet with other people trying to do the same thing as me. Where we can discuss our ideas together. Also, where there will be more advanced people, who can provide their advice.

Thanks for the info.

workshop for filmmaking is a wide topic , i am sure you will find someone to take your money. sounds like your looking for ideas ,not camera, lighting, sound ,or editing skills. something in a writing course for docs. why would you want to discuss your ideas with other people who don,t know what they are doing. search someone out who has done a good job on a doc like what you had in mind.
