Working with projection / projector / beamer

Hi,

not sure if it should be in the lighting forum, but since it's also lighting I'd thought I'd ask here.
Projectors / Beamers come in vast different price ranges.

What is a good enough projector to be able to film the projection? Or more importantly, what makes a projector good enough?
Good enough here means, flicker free if that exists. And decent colors.

Preferably a rentable option (EU).
For a project we would like to film certain bits of projection onto subject and wall in slow motion without flicker.

Thanks!

I presume you mean projecting 'playing video' onto a subject. I've shot a few of these. If the room is dark and controlled, even those 'few hundred dollar' small portable consumer projectors work reasonably well. As far as slow-mo, it will depend on the exact frame rate and I'd recommend testing beforehand.

Thanks for the quick reply Run&Gun!
Well regarding the frame rate prefarably something around 100 fps or 75 fps.
But already happy with 50 fps

I did some testing with a friends projector and it flickered at any slow mo setting and shutter combo. That's kind of why I'm asking here :)

Thanks!
I understand it's quite an unusual question.
If I find one who doesn't flicker at slow motion I'll drop it here :)

Brightness is not just an only factor, however, it is measured in ANSI Lumens. 1000 lumens and range upwards to 2500 lumens and more, It depends upon the room size and your viewing environment.Currently, Wide XGA (1280 x 800) and HD (1920 x 1080) are the most common home theater projector resolutions. An HD (1920 x 1080) projector has about twice the number of pixels of a Wide XGA projector. More the pixels better the quality but comes with cost.
