Working with AVCHD in FCP7

Ok, so as a beginner I had problems understanding how to work with AVCHD on Final Cut and I found this online. I just want to share this in case some people were having the same problems as I was.

Not a bad beginners guide. I personally don't like to output using the "Share" menu. I would rather output at full resolution using the "Export > QuickTime Move" then use Compressor, Handbrake, or MPEG Streamclip to transcode to whatever I need. Then I have a nice copy of the full-res video I can keep for myself for any future transcoding that needs to be done. I have also found that when I use any of the output provided in Share that it takes a very long time for the transcode process to take place. Just my $0.02.

Yes! The exporting was the only thing that the guide seemed to be missing. That was my biggest problem actually, sharing wasn't doing it for me.
