Working in 16:9 - batch marking your clips

A recent project discussed elsewhere in these forums www.stealart.com was shot with the anamorphic adapter.

Myself and zoomforce discovered that bringing multiple (e.g. 185 or so) clips into Vegas requires you to manually change the properties of each clips Pixel Aspect Ratio to 1.2121...

Ahem...just a little bit boring don't we think.

So we went looking for a simple fix - and surprise surprise buried somewhere in the sample scripts available for download (and a helpful posting on sonic foundry forum later) we tweaked this out...

/**
* This script will change all the files in your media pool to aspect ratio 1.2121 (widescreen NTSC)
*
*
**/
import System.Windows.Forms;
import SonicFoundry.Vegas;
import SonicFoundry.Vegas.MediaStream;
import System.Object;

try {

var mediaEnum = new Enumerator(Vegas.Project.MediaPool);
while (!mediaEnum.atEnd()) {
var media = mediaEnum.item();
var stream : VideoStream = media.Streams[0];
stream.PixelAspectRatio = 1.2121;
mediaEnum.moveNext();
}

} catch (e) {
MessageBox.Show(e);
}

CUT and paste the above text out - save it as a .js file and then load it up through the scripting menu entry...and away you go...

hope it helps someone else too
