Working back and forth between PPCS5 MACOSX and PPCS5 WINDOWS

I was wondering if anyone knew the proper way to work cross platform between mac and pc. I used media manager to collect all my project files onto one drive and was able to open it up on my mac. But I am unable to toss the new project file back and forth between systems without relinking and re-indexing my footage. Is there a better way?

What I would like to do is to ideally work during the day on PPcs5 on my MAC away from my home office and then bring the .PP file home with me and open it on my PC and continue working there if necessary and vise versa but seamlessly. Do I need to clone my internal drive at home to an external along with all the render files to accomplish this? Any other way?

Make sure that the drive has the same Drive Letter on both computers. For example, if the drive is D: on Win and E: on Mac you must re-link and re-indexing/re-conforming.

Making sure that the drive/s has the same Drive Letter is the key.

That's all well and good except OS X doesn't use drive letters. You can easily swap back and forth between Premiere Win and OSX, but you will have to re-link every single time. On CS5.5, I usually only have to find one file and it does the rest for me. I also use a G-RAID mini because it is a compact hard drive with FW800 and eSATA, which is nice.

haha F...Yeah...quite a pickle. I started this doc when I was 20 years old and hadn't practiced good organization techniques...now four years later it's causing me quiteee the headache. It spans like 2-3 internal drives...very scary. Just trying to clean it up as the doc is just starting to come together.

I would definitely try to consolidate on one drive (and then duplicate what you have currently as a backup). It's expensive, yes, but not as expensive as losing everything.
