Workflow question between computers

Hey guys!

Recently, we've started moving from Media Composer to Premiere. For this, however, I have a question regard workflow.

The thing is, we've just purchased one of the new Mac Pro computers. We'll be using this with Premiere and DaVinci. The workflow here is simple enough, and not really any different from how we used Media Composer. However, the workflow with After Effects is much different. Generally, I'd be sending the files which needed some sort of effect to another computer and have it done there, then get the edited file back and put it back into the timeline in Media Composer. Premiere obviously has a much easier workflow with After Effects, which is nice. However, I was not planing on using the same computer for After Effects. I feel as though it would be much more efficient if I can continue in Premiere and have our effects guy work his magic at the same time. Obviously, we could just use the same workflow as when we used MC, but I was wondering if there was a better way. We have a pretty fast MacBook Pro. If both the computers were linked to the same storage device, is it possible to send the single file from one computer and straight into After Effects, do whatever needs to be done, and then transport it back into Premiere, without having to go through the tedious task of exporting, sending and relinking?

Best Regards

Jens
