I am in the finishing stages of an hour long documentary and have come up with a workflow that I think will work. However, I thought i would put it out there to see if I have any logical gaps.
The film was shot on a Sony Z1 in 1080 50i (1440x1080). The edit was done natively in HDV. My final workflow is as follows.
1. Prepare timeline so it is cuts only, removing any effects and titles.
2. Using the media manager, make a new project and convert all footage to 1920x1080i
3. Send new sequence to Color for grading render ProRes 422 and send back to FCP
4. Bring back effects and Titles
5. Export final as ProRes 1920x1080 50i
How does that sound?
Cheers
