Work Lights

I have three 500watt work lights two on a stand and one single. They are very tough to work with and if I had it to do over I would just buy some clamp on reflector fixtures and put fluresents and balanced bulbs in them. There are times like outside at night when the worklights can be useful but you still need another more controlable light source.

I'm not sure that one of these would even fit on any work light I've seen.

It would definitely be a retro-fitting/DIY job.... I have seen some 100W work lights that are round which might work..?

Save yourself time and money. I started with work lights too, but if you decide to get serious you'll probably want an upgrade pretty quickly. The Britek's are so cheap, I can't see why anyone would want to use work lights.

You can probably make the workshop lights work, but when I used them in a pinch (until my Briteck kit from Rostronics came in) I got lots of comments from my clients (oh, I have some of those in my garage, etc.). Most people expect you to have professional looking equipment and a professional image is important if you want top dollar and respect for your work - IMHO!

I found that after the time ,energy, and money it took to make barn doors for my work lights, it would have been cheaper just to buy the Briteks.

I happen to be a handy individual. Do it yourself projects are always calling my name. But I would say 80% of the time most people will be better off just buying the right tool for the job. Its hard to compete with a machined product.
