one of our crew stumbled onto a process for editing clips from the two diff framerates mentioned in the title, and we are wondering if it will work,,,or cause for-now-unforseen problems down the line...
so here goes...
our final product will be in 23.98...but of course when we edit in that timeline, every 30i clip brought in or moved after being brought in causes big render hassles...
the crew member noticed that if we do the editing in 29.97 that the 23.98 clips go in fine (of course they look a bit wacky) and dont require any rendering...so our thought is why NOT render in the 29.97 timeline to get it all like we want.. then when its finished, simply copy, paste it all into the final 23.98 timeline, do any nattress filtering and rendering needed on the 30i portiions, then output to dvd...
