Word of warning - Automatic Duck and FCPX 10.0.3

So 10.0.3 was so tantalizing that I upgraded right away. Problem is that 10.0.3 breaks Automatic Duck! I just found that out when my audio guy asked for an updated OMF file. So I need to either downgrade to 10.0.2 temporarily or find some other way to export OMF. I need to fix this quick. Any ideas?

The only way currently to export an OMF that I know of now that Automatic Duck doesn't work is to export a FCP7 XML via Xto7, then import that XML into FCP7 and export the OMF from FCP7. It's a $50 plugin but it's worth it for other reasons, like being able to use Color to color correct something edited on FCPX, or use DVD Studio Pro with a project edited with FCPX.

Just for prosperity, there is no requirement to use FCP 7 to create a DVD in DVD Studio Pro. Pro Res exports from FCPX will convert to MPEG-2 just fine.

True, but if you want to pre set up chapter markers and what not you'd need FCP7. That's the workflow I'm used to anyway, but you are right, if you want to do that in DVD Studio Pro you can.

The other question is does he have to have omf or can he use aff. If he can use aaf then theres an app in the app store for conversion in FCP os x

Hmmmmm... even if he can't, if I can get the audio to aaf then in theory I should be able to use Logic (which I own) to convert to omf. Wish Apple made their pro Music app and their pro video app able to talk to each other...

For now I think we're going to work with an older file that I sent him before the update. $100 for a plug-in that only adds in functionality I once had and IMO should be built in isn't happening. I guess for now I'll use FCPX for my one man band projects and anything that I need to play with others on will be cut in Avid...

Thanks for the suggestion though. In an emergency this would work well.
