Woo Hoo! Starting to make money!

I have been working with a particular band to develop a produced and scripted music video for them, so I have been tagging along with the band to different shows. This is to get B roll footage for some live action stuff.

Tonight I get approached by the next band that follows them and they ask what it would cost for me to film them too. I tell them, "$50.00" since I am already set up and this is gravy on the top. When they see the video, they flip! "We want you to do our video!"

Well after the shoot, I get approached by the promoter and he has booked me for the next show @ $250.00 for the evening based on what he saw on playback. BTW, I am starting to love my new VariZoom LCD! Beats the crap out of the one I had.

Nice!

Congratulations Doc! Music videos and concert videos can be fun and profitable. I applaud anything we can do to make money with our camera gear!

Now I just need to finish building the steadi (possibly finish the sled today, if I do I'll post a pic) and get a nice jib. Oh and a couple more cameras, and I will be gellin'.

Ah, heck, I want it all!

At this rate I will be able to QUIT my day job

Out of the blue I got a call from a friend that "reps" (his words, not mine) me today. He has hooked me up with a Rap artist that wants a 4 minute produced music video.

I just concluded my meeting with him and I am going to have a budget! Obviously the deal is not done until there is ink on paper, but this is a good day!

I gave him my pricing for the shoot and for editing, and he didn't even bat an eye. And as much as I am not into most rap out there, this guy actually sounds good and has a good vision for the project.

He wants to start shooting in 2 weeks, and I will have the mastered track next week.

Again, what a day!

I NEED to get my website finished!
