Won't recognize Camera?

Hey guys,

I recently got my hands on a copy of Vegas for testing purposes. I'm trying to import some 24pA footage but Vegas refuses to recognize the camera. I double checked with Premiere and had the same problem.

What am I doing wrong? Camera is on and set to VCR mode and conected to my computer via Firewire.

I'm currently having the exact same problem. I've tried thru Vegas and VirtuaDub.

Windows XP Hardware Manager recognizes the firewire card, but when I hook the camera up I get nothing.

I've tried two different Panasonic cameras.

Have you guys recently downloaded Service Pack 2? I hear that has caused some problems for people.

Try as I may, I could not get vegas and premiere to capture on the same system. It felt somehow like they were both competing to be in charge of capturing. They're like the siamese fighting fish of the NLE world they have to live in separate bowls. In the end I gave up and ran premiere because the preview out works on my tv where vegas wouldn't. anyone knowing through results how to make these guys like in the same bowl please let me know!!!

Running matrox rt2500 capture card if that helps

Shaw and cinij, try going to device manager and uninstalling your firewire cards then click search for new hardware while your camera is attatched. I've had to reboot my computer before after using my canapus A/D card.
