.wmv Files to a DVD?!

[mechjustin]

Can someone tell me how to get a .wmv file to burn on a DVD?

( I use sony Vegas to edit if that makes a difference )

Or what program can I download?

You will need to convert to mpg file. (If you are using Vegas, can't you export as an mpg file?) Or even an AVI file that the DVD program (such as encore) will convert for you. As for a standalone converter I have #1 video converter from http://www.videotox.com/.

You can use VirtualDub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) to convert it to avi then pull into Vegas timeline. Before downloading VirtualDub, go to http://www.videohelp.com/ and put "wmv to avi" into the search bar. It will give you lots of freeware/shareware/buyware that will do the job for you. VirtualDub works fine though once you get the hang of the settings. VideoHelp has a good guide for using it.
