The Bourne series of books written by Ludlam bares little or no resemblance to the movie Jason Bourne, except in name. But honestly the Bourne character needed an upgrade from the book series....

This is why I love having meetings with development execs! That glassy-eyed look you get when you mention something everyone outside of Hollywood knows about. They also give you those wonderful notes about how the average person won't understand this, when what they really mean is that they don't understand it.

Guess we've all heard that famous - and possibly even true - story about the guys who took a copy of the screenplay for Casablanca, put on a different name, sent multiple copies around town...

...and nobody recognized it. Or wanted to have anything to do, with it.
