Wireless XLR - Camera to Boom Pole

I own a Steadicam, but I don't have a wireless XLR set-up. Could somone point me in the way of an XLR transmitter/receiver package. I need something that will attach to my camera and then transmit wirelessly to my shotgun mic on the boom pole. Thanks for the help!

usially it work in opposite way - but since the mikes diaphragm may work as speaker , with some changes that could be done:-)
how much do you wish to invest and what camera and mike do you have ?

You are right, the transmitter needs to be on the mic not the camera, my mistake. I have the HD100U and a nice AT shotgun mic. I will spend a lot, but I don't need anything extra, just audio transmission.

So it probably at 897 , you can use non phantom transmuter
now how much as you go up in sum you have better wireless system
might start at 500 and finish about 4 grand
does your camera have 12 v out for externall receiver powering ?

I use a Seinheiser EW100 system (around $500 when I bought it a year and a half ago) when I need a wireless boom--as long as I'm using a shotgun that doesn't need phantom power. I believe this is the equivalent now:

Good luck.
I have the same and it works ok. I've never thought about using it for a wireless boom set up. Why not just use some cable? It'll sound better.

Not that this is in your budget, I just wanted to share that I had the opportunity to work with the Zaxcom wirless mixer to camera set up a while ago. That thing is slick. $3800 later, it better be. Tiny transmitter for in the bag and a fairly light reciever to mount on the camera. Carefull though your steadicam operator may get pissy about the weight, but its way better than a leash of cables.

Zaxcom Wireless

You need to remember that unless you are going with one of the high end (i.e. expensive) models like the Zaxcom's or the Lectro 4xx series, you will probably get some drop outs and possibly some interference. I too like the Senn G2's but they are not diversity, and are prone to drop outs.

I guess the real question is, why buy? Why not rent? For the type of money you are talking about, you can rent some nice Lectro sets (I haven't ever seen Zaxcom available for rent...) Or, for your steady cam shots, rent a recorder and record away from the camera.

look for trewaudio used equipment
there are few audio ltd 2000 radio mikes which much better then the new one you can buy for that sum
if you have to go with new lectrosnics 100 could work for you

the dropouts are have nothing with quality of the signal you send , the sony 500 $ sucks even it diversity and the g-2 sucks it not , its alwais better work with diversity systems especially in in reflected arias but for 30-40 feet distance the regullar is good also .

thats from trew site
the diversity system work on 3 litihum 3v battery internal , but can work from 12ext as well
if you work with 12 v battery for your jvc ( if you work with li-ion which supply 16.6 you need dc to dc converter since the audio cant handle more the 13 v)
the small non diversity receivers work from 9v internal or 13 v external
all of these systems are much better then everything you can find new for the same sum -audio quality wise

Hmm...I have not thought about a recorder. The reason it needs to be wireless is because of the Steadicam. I can't have wires pulling my camera off balance and shifting as I move causing an off shot. Renting is not really a factor because I film A LOT. I don't want to rent every day because that is not rational. I like to own my equipment so I add bits here and there. I think I might try out some wireless systems. The range is not that important because the boom op will not be more than 10-20 feet from me.
