Wireless w/o lav

I own a nice, old but reliable Tram lav and would like to hook it it into a wireless rig.  Any suggestions?    Also, mounting for the DVX, anyone have pfotos of their rig?  Thanks.

Is your Tram an XLR mount?  If so, you could use something like a Sennheiser G2 with a plug-in transmitter...

I think I have an XLR->TA5F connector adapter as well somewhere... so if you got something like that it would let you use the Tram with something like a Lectrosonics or Audio Technica wireless transmitter.

yes, barry it's an xlr/phantom. do any you know of have switchable freqs or are they all preset?

Re: Wireless w/o lav

Well... the Sennheisers are sold in three different variants, for different frequency areas (depending on what UHF channels are active in your area; Sennheiser has a map on their website to help you pick which one is most appropriate). And the Audio Technica 101 comes in two different versions for different frequencies. Then for fine-tuning, the Sennheiser lets you dial in the exact frequency... I've never tested to see how many options you have, but it's a *lot*. And the A-T has 99 switchable channels.

thanks.  btw, what kind of mounting rigs are being used to secure the receiver on the back/side of the dvx?

I've got a Bracket1, but don't use it much, normally we just clip 'em to the shooter's belt and run XLR cables up to the camera. That keeps the weight off your hands and down on your hips, and doesn't interfere with the "balance" of the camera.
