I was interested in purchasing a wireless video transmitter and receiver for my camera (to be used with a jib, cable system etc). Does anyone have any experience, horror stories, recommendations etc for this transmitter. Thanks in advance.

I asked a similar question last week. Here's the response I got

You might want to ask this question in a forum dedicated to Steadicams because many operators use wireless systems for linking back to producers/directors.

Also this has been discussed here on this forum as well. I can't recall the outcome. But a search will turn up something I'm sure.

I didn't find anything in a search here, but I did find a good Steadycam forum with some recommendations

Hope this helps.

Another thought occured to me. Is this for monitoring or recording? Also I imagion that you are only interested in sd video. HD is definately out of the question. HD is 8k to start but most are 60-80K. FYI.... RF toys are bandwidth deficient and not intended for professional use.

Chris, that thing looks interesting. How do you power the device?

Thanks

When I use it on the stabilizer, the transmitter is powered by the 12volts from the stabilizer battery. It will also accept 9volts and comes with a little 9volt doohicky that plugs into the transmitter. The receiver will take 9-12 volts DC also and can be powered by battery or an AC adapter.
