So say my DP is shooting something, and I want it wirelessly transmitted to my monitor. What would I use for that? I searched EVS and BH and found nothing of this nature.
I want to be able to see what is being shot on the camera, without having to worry about extra cables. But maybe super long RCA's are just the wa to go.
Jarred pointed out an ebay auction for a wireless system, that could take the composite output of the DVX and broadcast it to a receiver, and the receiver plugs into any monitor or TV. The auction was for like $8. I ordered one, played with it briefly, and it seems to work. Obviously not for critical use, but for just knowing basically what's in the frame, it seems worth $8...
Dude, I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but they sell wireless video transmitters and receivers fairly cheap at spy camera and hidden camera stores. All you have to do is plug your camera into the transmitter and plug your monitor into the receiver and ta da. I'm not sure right off hand where those websites are, but do a google search for wireless audio/video and you're bound to come up with something useful. If all else fails just look through those spy websites.
I have a wireless setup for my R/C planes. www.blackwidowav.com Small, but kinda expensive if you don't want to make it yourself.
Remember, for all of this stuff you need to have an FCC HAM license, and many of the super cheap ebay transmitters are not legal to operate in the US even with an amateur radio license.

It also eats 9 volts for breakfast.[/quote]
wow.. I live beside you Taylor and I paid $12 for the entire reciever including the shipping. For that 8 bucks it also came with a little camera remember guys lol
And.... there was a table at NAB selling them for $150 each ha ha.. I wish I woulda thought of that as they sold tons and tons of them.. $140 profit isnt bad.
The technology is out there. I have seen various Director's on Mtv's Making the Video show using them.
It almost looks like a portable dvd player with a long antenna. The director can walk around or be a good distance from the camera and can see everything the camera is seeing right on his little portable screen.
yeah.. there is the slingshot or whatever its called as well that you put on the camera and it broadcasts a UHF channel so any handheld TV or normal TV in range can pick it up.
