Wireless receiver bracket

I found a new wireless receiver bracket by a company called dvxcessories.com. Has anyone ever used this or tried it out? If so, can you please let me know what you think of it? Thanks

I have never used this bracket, but after looking at the pics I have serious doubts that it is secured to the camera well. I would explore other options.

I checked out the description again and it says it's attached to the handle by a clamp. I really can't tell exactly how by the pictures, but the other features make the bracket very interesting. If anyone has tried this bracket, I'd love to know how it's attached and if it's secure, because right now that's the only thing stopping me from buying one. Thanks in advance for any advice from a user of this item!

There's a couple of things that bother me about this product:

For one, how exactly do you attach the wireless receiver to the bracket? there are no holes or slots or anything. it's just a metal plate. if you use a metal clip you'll peel off the powdercoating.

Seccondly it is impossible to find out who owns the company or the website. Its very weird that there are no names attached anywhere to the site. In my eyes it makes it untrustworthy. it's one thing to claim that you are an EMMY award winning photojournalist who has worked with all the major companies. it's another to actually prove it by making your name available. What further confuses me is that whomever made the website registered the domain through domainsbyproxy.com - a service generally used by people who don't want to be traced back to the websites. very strange.

am i the only one that could see this part? or am i the only one that actually read the page LOL...

The RF Rack™ attaches to the camera at two points. Built into the bracket is a small clamp that secures it to the camera handle utilizing a small thumbnail screw. Velcro® (hook and loop fastening system) is also used to eliminate movement and enhance safety. The wireless receiver is attached to the RF Rack™ with Velcro.

I saw this too but I thought it was pretty crappy. First off, how many people would stick industrial velcro tape on the back of their receiver to attach it to something. seccondly, if the "ingenious" sollution that makes this product special is VELCRO it sure ain't special. I can make a velcro based support system out of some paper and plastic that will work just as well. this just makes me even more suspicious of this system.

it just doesn't make any sense that's all. if you like it, go ahead. but I question any company that feels it necessary to hide the owner's identity.

i never said it was good, or that i like it....just pointing out that no one pointed that out...it says right there on the page how its connected.

Try "Bracket1.com"

I've used it on DVX and now on my HVX.

Holds Professional Sony 2-channel receiver and holds it well.
(Sony supplies adapter plate that connects bracket to receiver.)

Good luck...

Well............

Morten,
No disrespect man, but, I've been a freelance photog for over 10 years, and I'd say that probably 90% to 95% of the tv stations (I freelance for 3 stations and have worked alongside others from many other stations) attach their wireless receivers to their camera with Velcro. If not directly attached to the camera, then it's on their camera's receiver bracket or battery with Velcro. It's been a long time since I've used a camera that DIDN'T attach the receiver with Velcro. So it is an accepted and apparently a preferred way. As far as the bracket being attached to the camera with velcro, I too have reservations, but know that sooner or later someone I know will buy one and then I can check it out for myself. When I do, I'll post what I think of it here.

And yes, most of us DO velcro the receiver to these plates. There is no problem with it and it is extremely sturdy. Have never had a receiver drop when attached to this device via velcro.

I don't get why you are against velcro anyway. You think it's cheesey or something? No one can see that you attached via velcro, so why worry? Anyway, this product looks very professional and I often get good comments on it....

I hope you don't mind me added my two cents worth... (I always like to get rid of my lose change)

I too, am very fond of Velcro, but I'm not hanging my new Sennheiser reciever on it anytime soon! Sennheiser has a mounting plate that attaches to the back of their receiver packs ( and includes it with the purchase of their "kits" ). The mounting plate ( made of plastic ) is held in place with the same wire belt clip that is on the pack. That's right, a piece of bent wire slightly thicker than a paperclip, slid into to holes on the back of the back... under tension... and as cheesey as that sounds, if they supply it and recommend it, it must be totally sufficient for the weight of the pack ( about 90% metal ). If they include it, I trust it! Plain and simple.

I have the BEC and love it:

I bought the NRG and am pleased with it. BTW, the photo on the B&H site has the top of the image cropped so the top shoe doesn't appear. Trust me, there is a 3rd shoe on the top.
