Wireless Mics/Lav's

Hey there,

I've got a DVX100b, in the near future I will be needing to have 1-3 wireless powered lavalier microphones(like you see the main actors have on reality TV shows etc..), I was wondering where you guys would recommend going to get one, also any specific brands?

Since our cameras already have XLR Inputs, will I need a BeachTech or anything? Equipment needed other than the mics?

Recommend any specific setups? I know BHphoto sells any audio equipment you can really want, but just curious as to any specific setups that you know works that isn't TOO expensive...

Thanks,

A lot of people are using these, myself included. Reliable and they sound good.

You can get it without the plug-in transmitter if you don't use a stick mic. (About $100.00 less without)

Check the Sennheiser website and look for the frequency finder to see what is the least used frequency in your area. Then get them in that block to minimize interference for where your going to be using them.

P.S.- No need for a Beachtech

Do a search on the audio section. What is your budget? The minimum acceptable is the Sennheiser eW g2 system. Order it w/o the me2 mics (which are terrible) and add a AT899 ($200) or a sanken cOs11($300) or a countryman B6 or an MKE2 (make sure you get the right ones with the correct connecors [ask your salesperson @ trew]). If you are doing more than 2 mics, you need a mixer as well. The Sound Devices 302 is a great 3 channel mixer (1200).

Try not to buy at B and H as they have no idea how to answer your questions or support you if you have a problem. Go to trewaudio.com instead.

Read all of the stickies on the audio section of this forum as well.
