Can anyone please recommend a wireless microphone kit or the components I need for the following:
1 receiver
1-2 wireless lavs
1 wireless handheld mic
I'm a bit lost with all of the options and need to purchase the stuff for my school should be under $400 al together. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

look for used - nothing in this price range - 550 is the minimum for new on ebay for g-2 systems

do some research on the sennheiser G2 system - $400 puts you somewhere round Azden, which is not great. Oleg is right, look for used. Note - each wireless transmitter needs a receiver, so one receiver cant hack it. There are exceptions to this, but they are either too expensive for you, or too cheap and nasty to be worth it.

And, don't forget that in most cases you will also have to replace the microphone that comes with the kit. Search for lavalieres to see some of the recommendations.
