Wireless microphone AND ear monitor???

Hey all,

I'm in the market now for wireless microphones, and through all the readings on various forums it looks like going either G2 or G3 is the best bang for the buck. I am still not 100% clear on the major differences or benefits of paying the few extra hundred for the G3 over the G2 but maybe someone can clear this up for me?

What i'm mostly interested in is finding out if it's possible to use my wireless mic setup as a wireless in ear monitoring system for when I'm performing live with my band. Is there any possibility in this? And if so what's the best way to go about it?

Basic difference is that the G3 offers diversity (helps maintain a strong, consistent signal at all times), and the G2 is older and being discontinued.

As for wireless monitoring, to the best of my knowledge they're not interchangable. There are specific wireless systems (Shure's Personal Monitor System is what I'm familiar with) for that task, but since for each case you'd be swapping the duties of which pack is receiver and which is transmitting I don't think it'd work. I may be wrong, but that's my understanding.

If your wireless receiver has a headphone output, there's no reason not to use it as monitor. It's all the same ;-)
