Wireless Mic Suggestions

Hello all,

I'm currently looking to really up the ante on my budding interest in film-making and to start seriously investing in some quality equipment. As far as mics go, however, I'm not exactly the most savvy on what's good to get. Hopefully you guys can help me out in this department.

I'm looking to get some wireless mics and if you guys can provide me with any feedback about what to get, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have heard some good things about the Sennheiser G-2 kits and would ideally like to stay around that price range. Any thoughts?

Cheers.

no other suggestions in the same price tag , the only necessarily stuff is replace the lavalier which comming with the transmiter for better one .
the EMW shelved version from Countryman is my favor for low budget lavalieres.
check the frequency spectrum in your aria to find the right block for your use .

Not so much a suggestion, but a question, since we're on the subject. Any reason not to use "musician" wireless setups? Shure, AT, AKG, etc. Is the quality that different/bad? I don't imagine folks doing a concert would put up with totally crappy quality. (But I'd think different mics would be appropriate.)

dont familar with shure but AT are quit noisy ,the akg 81 are short in range ( 10mw out).
you also can look for on e bay for used Lectro 195 which much better then the sennheisers and the rest

Yes, I was wondering myself which is the best way to go in terms of wireless. I hear all kinds of good things about the Countryman B3, and especially the Countryman B6, BUT, I also hear that the Sennheiser G2s are excellent. I have heard the Sennheiser ME-66. I know I can't compare that sound to a wireless unit but, I really do NOT like the sound of the ME-66. I repeat, I do NOT like the sound of the ME-66. I am trying to see through this prejudice to be open-minded to wireless mic suggestions. So, between the Countryman B6 vs. Sennheiser G2...which is the way to go????

The Countryman are lavalier microphones. The G2 is a wireless package (transmitter and receiver). It comes with some stock mics that are junk. Hypothetically, you buy the G2 and then buy a Countrymen lav with the wiring for a G2 unit. Together they make a decent ENG wireless rig.

Cheers
