Wireless mic question :

Trying to use Audio technica PRO 88W wireless mics but it only comes in stereo minijack outs.

So can I get another stereo mini-jack to XLRs so that I can ues them , or is there another way ?

Will XLR make a difference and actually enhance the quality over the stock stereo jack out ?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Wireless mic question :

the only difference in sound quality is if you would change the system , it would sond better:-)
you can replace the cable with xlr connector

Re: Wireless mic question :

so if I were to use a wireless for XLR 1 (minijack out from wireles receiver to 2 XLR outputs. but will plug only one in) and a zoom mic (panny's stock for the DVX) on XLR 2, I will get each different input on left and right channels respectively, in the NLE or do I get a mixed (stereo) track ?

Pardon my ignorance. I haven't managed to receive all my equipment yet, to test them.

Re: Wireless mic question :

okies, I wished my old crew in uni days were around.

got another question : the AT pro 88 wireless mentioned that I need a tranformer-balanced adaptor cable (1/8" mini plug to XLR) to, say my DVX.

Now how do I tell if the cable (which the dealer for my AT pro conveniently does not stock and suggested 3rd party proco stagemaster cable) is balanced ,  to prevent damage to my DVX (as stated in the AT pro manual) ??

It does not state anywhere on the cable or the cable sleeve.
The dealer simply mentioned 'this will do' when I asked about cables needing to be 'transformer balanced' . ???
