Wireless mic for US $ 165, how good?

Re: Wireless mic for US $ 165, how good?

good as long as your in a big field with no other interfering signals, but it probally will do a better job than the onboard mic in an interview situation.

There hae been alot of complaints about Safer Seas though.

I would stay away from that particular wireless system. Your better off with a Sennheiser Evolution or a Sony UWP system. They are more money, but you get what you pay for.

Plus, the product name on it is incorrect. That wireless system is not made by Panasonic. It is made by audio technica. It is non-diversity, and only has 2 frequencies to choose from. They get poor range and don't sound all that good.

I've been looking at the same wireless mike. One thing though, if you do decide to get this one, check ebay carefully. I've seen the exact same mike listed for $129 (and from companies with much higher feedback ratings than Safer Seas).

I'm using this.

It's cheap and good for me. However I'm not using CP8306 Transformer Balanced XLR Adapter Cable. I kinda got a DIY XLR cable (which I suspect is not balanced but works)

However I have queries because of this (cable) .

Can anyone help ? Please check out my thread on the 'wireless mic question'
