Wireless Mic for HVX200

I need to pick up a wireless for an upcoming shoot, and reviewing this forum the G2 seems like a good pick. I want to spend around $500 and get the best bang for my buck.

It will be a simple one person shoot, person on camera will be walking around, moderate wind noise.

Does this type of set up seem worth it ?

Any links to some online stores would be appreciated. Thanks !

you will need some decent lavaliere to hook to g-2 ( look for countryman emw shelved version), so it about 650-700 depends on the place you buy , the one which comes with the transmitter me -2 is literature piece of **** .
stores - you have few in lA
COFFEY SOUND , COLOSSAL SOUND , LOCATION SOUND and probably many others . Tay audio in Florida
Gotham sound in NY is my favor , not such because the price but for the service .

Yes, but listen to Oleg. DO NOT BUY FROM B&H. You have Coffey and Location Sound in LA. Call them up and they will make sure you have everything right for the same price as B&H. B&H will gladly sell you things that don't work together. Coffey, etc will get you what you want and provide you all the customer service you will need for the same price. It's really a no-brainer.

Cheers

I agree, I live near Location Sound in No. Hollywood = B&H just has a great website. Ill also check Coffey.

Anyone else ? Thanks

I usually buy from Trew, but that's because I'm in NorCal and don't want to have to pay sales tax and shipping like I do when I buy from Coffey. But, in L.A. Coffey and Location are good choices.

yes i forgot trew , but only since they were never cheaper then anyone .
if i had to choose outside the CALI , Gotham are most flexible in their service i found .at least to me .
for the g-2, first check dedicated music stores , there is a grate chance you will get better prices since they have much more customers , the audio for film guys are in some way slow in give you the best price:-)
but this is relevant for obvious stuff from the box , for more sophisticated things and finding solutions these places would be always better then stupid resellers only . so if you know what you want the market is quit open if you dont stay with more deductible resellers (by the way i found its not 100% so had to explain what i need 3 times until the person got it and it not becouse my english and distant line i use , dont say in what dedicated place it happened but it was in California :-))

Thanks !

What is the next (quality and price) step up from the Sennheiser SK-100 G2 bodypack transmitter and EK-100 G2 bodypack Receiver ?

the next step is used lectrosonic from the 200 series if you dont want single channel lectro or audio ltd .
almost everythging is better then g-2 :-)
