Wireless Lav System for HVX Question

Okay so I'm interested in buying this wireless lav system http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=274577&is=REG and I want to have enough wireless microphones to be able to put it on two people. Would I buy two of the above items or do I get the above item and find just another transmitter?

If I get two of the same items, can i mount both receivers to my HVX?

If anyone has any advice on making this selection, has an opinion on the product i'm looking to buy, or has any experience they would like to cast my way I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't know much about the Sony, but many of the pro audio people recommend getting the sennheiser G2 evolution series over the sony and luckily they are roughly the same price. I have the G2 and think they are very good.

You need a receiver and transmitter for each person mic'd. You can mount up to 2 receivers on the HVX.

The G2 receiver comes with a clip and bracket that allows it to slip into the shoe on top of the HVX handle.

but you will probably want to use two at a time.

You can also just clip em to the strap

this is what I use:

you could use two with the shoe mount clip you mentioned and still have room for a light or a mixer or or something.

I'm just saying that the bracket as it is shown on that eBay page is superfluous. I'm also not a big fan of velcro as the sole means of securing something, nor do I like glueing stuff to my gear.

er ... glue?

I was mainly saying you can't put 2 receivers in the shoe mount.

If you are just doing interviews vs. guerilla style narrative, then I guess you would only need to mount one to your camera.

Sorry, that wasn't in reference to your post. The people who make the bracket on that eBay page want you to glue strips of velcro to both your receiver and the bracket.

I'm much too anal about keeping my gear in good condition to do something like that.

Just reverberating this post. I am perfectly happy with my G2 wireless. $500 well spent.

Also a G2 fan here. Got the body pack and handheld system. Only problem I've ever had with it is interference from a radio tower 100 feet away.

I use 'that Ebay thing' with the clips on the G2 (though less anal people can use velcro) and I brought it up since it can hold TWO receivers....

We have been moving a bunch of the Sennhieser ew112 and ew122 lav kits. As far as brackets go, we have just recently became a dealer for Bracket1. I'm not even sure if there is anything on out site yet but here is the manufactures link. www.bracket1.com.

I've had that sony lav for about four years, and it's served me well. I'm not an audio expert by any means, but I've always liked the rich, somewhat bassy, tones I get off the sony lav.

I have two G2 systems (not used simultaniously) and when filming interiors I often get glitches and I´m inside most of the time...
But I´m in Europe, different frequencies, different interferences...

i use two all the time and never have problems

I think you can order them with different frequency sets right? ... so test them right away and if you get a pair that cannot get out of the way of some prominent frequency in your area, then send them back during your exchange period and swap them for another frequency set.

I use that ebay bracket and did not use the adhesive velcro. I used the clip on the receiver and a velcro that wraps around the receiver and the bracket. It looks great and no glue.

I use the new Audio Technica 1800 series that is two receivers in one unit. I got the 1823 for $999 at from siglermusic.com (item is not on their website). The 1823 comes with a beltpack withlav and a plug in for a handheld.
