Wireless Lav Suggestions

You guys probably know that I am trying to build a kit for a new job position. We will be doing alot of sit down interviews with clients and testimonials. I will probably put a shotgun overhead but in the event we need them I want to know which wireless lav kit to suggest.
I'd like the receiver to be on the camera and then have as small of a device on the interviewed person as possible.
Been looking at:
1. Sennheiser G3
2. Audio-Technica ATW-1813D
3. Sony UWP-V1
Don't worry about "talking down to me." I'd rather someone talk to me like a child so I can understand so help me out.

I can't speak about the AT or the Sony, but I own two Sennheiser G3s and have been quite pleased. I use them with Tram TR-50s and OST mics. The Tram (and OSTs) sound less muffled when hidden under clothing than the stock me-2 mic. Given that these are interviews, having the mic visible may not be a problem in which case you may be satified with the stock ME-2s. Typically, you'll place a lav on each speaker so you'll need two lavs.

Why wireless? If these are sit-down interviews two wired lavs would do the trick without the complication and signal degradation of wireless.

Most important will be to monitor the microphones. Just moving the mic a few inches can have a big impact on how the speaker sounds.

yes i agree, for sit down wired lav makes much more sense for a lot less money & likely better quality - the new rode lav mics seem to be getting some good reviews - do some more research i think a guy called chadfish on this site has done some testing

the sennheiser wirelles are also not difficult in managing (it has only 2 or 3 buttons, menu, scroll down...enter).

If you know that you have to push "play" on a dvd player...you know how to manage a sennheiser G3 or G2.

What you do have to do is scroll to "exit" always.

Actually, a light touch on the on/off button takes you back to the main screen wherever you are. You don't have to scroll to exit. The on/off button has the same function.

But it's just a quick push - don't hold it down or the unit will switch off.

Can also yes. And I know it....so for what raison do I make life complicated if it can be easy ? :-p

well i am also going to be using them for personal wedding event stuff (which the company is fine with) so thats why i am wanting wireless

I personally use Lecrtos for wireless and Shure SM93s for wired lav work. Anytime its a sitdown, I grab the wired instead of the wireless. Better fidelity.

I like the sound of the G2s, and believe the G3s are very comparable. Definitely want to upgrade your lav mic if you go for the G3.

As for the Sony UWP, I had one and hated it. Compander was very aggressive and absolutely colored the sound.
