Wireless Follow Focus: RT Motion Pro-MK2

[Tobias Straka]

There's a new wireless follow focus that you guys might be interested: the RT Motion Pro-MK2.

The Pro-MK2 is a 3-channel digital wireless follow focus system. I really love it for a variety of reasons. The build quality is amazing, it has great features and with £1200, it's priced very (!) competitive. It also reminds me of RED a bit in terms of upgradability - RT Motion puts out firmware upgrades regularily and offers hardware upgrades whenever there's something new available. Really cool.

I've written a pretty long post about it, so go ahead and read everything about it here:

There's pictures and a quick video, too...

Interesting for 5D / 7D users: the unit allows for start / stop and you'll be able to conrol shutter / ISO externally.

Oh, and one note - I am not working for RT Motion - I bought this kit and I just really enjoy it very much!

Nice!

Funny how Redrock Micro got an award for a remote follow focus that doesn't even exist yet.

Can you clarify?: "the unit allows for start / stop and you'll be able to conrol shutter / ISO externally."

well the motor is so HUGE, they could have put the receiver inside.
and looks a bit noisy.

in his indepth review link , he mentions that the motor is quiet. I dont know if he's compared it to others that he's heard though. I like the controller from BVR alot better with the 4 programable hard stops. And they will have a wireless version soon.
