Wireless feed

Hi all,

Well here's the situation. I think it may be beyond DVX.

It's not DVX specific... but I wanted to know what options I had to send a wireless signal from my DVX 100a to a Jumbo-Tron with a BNC cable connector.

Also, any options for instant-replay off a live feed?
I know from some productions that had separate digi-beta/betacamSP decks recording on the fly, and the footage which was captured for the replay was whatever the switchboard's camera was capturing at the moment, which they replayed back to. Like a slam dunk or touchdown.

What software/hardware setups am I looking at?

Thanks in advance

The Laird Waveshot Wireless Video Monitoring System might work for you.
$445 for the Laird transmitter that transmits to UHF regular TV or standard receiver. You then can take the output of the reciever to what ever input you want. Don't know about the quality, Never used it but I am looking into it.

If you are talking less than 250 feet Laird makes a transmitter for $99 with 8 channels, same as the above just a little weaker, pick up the signal with a standard reciever. Probably is a little to weak for a place with a jumbo tron

DV rack also could solve your other playback issue but you would need a long firewire cable directly to the machine doing the recording. Probably wont work since you want wireless video. But you can take the wireless feed from the receiver and pipe it to a hardware capture device or a tape deck (old school way) and just have a guy on it rewinding to the point you want to play back. I think the hard drive would be less stressfull.

These are real cheapo solutions for what you want. There are definately some expensive solutions out there too.

HartStudio, thanks for the response!

I'll look into these options. So far, from what I have seen from the Laird Waveshot, it looks like they only support Canon & Sony cameras. Did you find one for the DVX 100 series?

Also... what are the wireless options for a highend setup? I will not be making the purchase, so right now, price to me looks like it may be flexible.
