This topic has been covered pretty well in both the sticky topics here in the audio forum, as well as in other threads that you can search through.

The general consensus amongst most users, is to use a wireless lavalier if you can't fly a shotgun or hypercardioid on a boom pole. If you go the wireless lavalier route, the Sennheiser Evolution G2 Wireless series is quite popular.

For the best results, you'll want to get a UHF-based wireless transmitter/receiver pair, rather than the much cheaper VHF systems. I've been using Audio-Technica U100 and U100x series systems for about 7 years without any problems. You can find some of those units pretty cheap on ebay.

The holy grail is probably Lectrosonics wireless gear, which is significantly more expensive, but also much more robust and reliable in many situations.

Also, be aware that devices in the 698Mhz - 799Mhz range may have potential interference in the future (as that spectrum may be in use by broadcasters, ISPs, or content providers). Lots of people are dumping their block 27-29 wireless gear right now, due to the uncertainty.

Most of these wireless receivers can plug directly into your video camera, assuming you have XLR inputs, or at worse -- 1/8" mini jacks.

I forgot to mention, that if you're looking for dual-channel receiver-based systems, there are a few out there from Audio Technica (the 1800 series), and Azden (though, I don't hear many comments positive or negative about the Azden stuff)

Sennheiser G2's or Audio Technica wireless are very good. Sony also makes some that are decent value. Lectrosonics are a professional standard but cost a lot more then the other brands.

Check out website like Bhphoto or Full Compass and you will have a few different options.

Since you have a DVX100B with xlr inputs you need to make sure that the wireless you get has an XLR output from the receiver or at least you would need to buy a cable to go to XLR so you can connect it to your camera.

I think you can get a pair of Audio Technica or Sennheiser's for around 1000.

Best,
Andy

Andy, sorry, but I do have to respond to your post because you make it sound like you don't get more for what you pay for the Lectros vs. the G2's or the AT's. The sound quality and the overall quality of the Lectros far exceeds the G2's (I don't use the AT's so I can't comment there). I have several G2 sets that are slowly (as budget allows) being phased out for Lectro and the difference really is vast. And yes, the cost is roughly 3-4x the cost of the G2's but worth it if you can afford it.

I must agree with Phil. I own two of the AudioTechnica 100 series, which have been great for the money. My best client owns two of the Lectro 411 series though and I have used all four systems (my two and my client's two Lectros) on the same job and the difference in quality is surpising. You think an AudioTechnica or Sennheiser G2 sounds good until you use them side by side with Lectro, then you hear what you have been missing. It is an eye opener.

Wish I could afford the Lectros but there are going to be big changes in wireless in 2009 and onward and the whole technology is going to have to change in response to the White Spaces issues. I will probably just rent for the next year or two, at this point, I don't use wireless that often. Unless you use them often, I recommend the same.

Best,

Dan
