wireless body packs: attaching to body?

What are some cheap ways to secure a wireless lav bodyback transmitter to the body/leg? I see on B&H in 'accessories' for body pack transmitters they want something like $30 for an elastic type wrap to secure a transmitter to say a thigh. :( There must be a cheaper DIY way of doing this.

Wrist and ankle braces, which are basically the same, but be sure to either tape heavily or sew a pocket. You don't want to drop that thing.

Here is the accessory wrist/thigh band B&H offers for $30 to hold a transmitter. Is it worth it compared to a DIY? Looks like it has a dedicated pocket for a transmitter along with some sort of safety strap. Maybe it is worth the $30, compared to having the transmitter come loose or fall out and then the actor steps on the expensive transmitter and crushes it like Hulk all over a cheap car?

Go to the nest gunshow and look around for elastic holster bands. They make them that will go around your waist or leg, have Velcro fasteners and a pocket for a gun that a transmitter or small camera or battery pack, fits in perfectly.

If you look around carefully, you can find them for around ten dollars.

Be careful when attaching to the body.

You can lose about 70dB of transmission power if the antenna touches the skin.

Try and keep the antenna at least 1cm (half an inch) away from the body, if at all possible, to minimise transmission loss.

I just had a friend sew some up from a used wet suit. They work but these B&H ones I've used are worth it. Very Small, deal with sweat, and hold the transmitter. 30$ to hold a 2k transmitter is worth it. 2c
