Wireless Audio setup for Wedding Videography

"Is there any expectation that it (G3) will be replaced soon"
- The AVX was recently released, but AFAIK, it's not a replacement for the G3. I haven't read of any G4 at this point. The next step up from the G3/100 series is the 2000 series.

Maybe AVX is Sennheiser's quiet hedge against narrowing UHF spectrum availability. It gives them time to develop the technology before 500 mhz is inevitably repacked.

They already have the techno;ogy in the digital 9000 series - but very expensive.

I would hope that they would now develop that technology down to a more reasonable price point.

Though the market leader in digital radiomics does appear to be Audio Limited at the moment, with their new system due out in September, with a miniscule 2ms latency (the Sennheiser 9000 series is over 3ms, Zaxcom is even longer and the AVX is 19ms I think) and a massive 20-channels in a singe 8MHz TV band.

Bit the bullet and bought a RodeLink.
The kit cost me AU$399.95, so I'm pretty stoked about the price.
The transmitter is obviously bigger and made of a perceivably cheaper quality than the Sennheiser/Sony counterparts, however, I am mainly concerned about the quality of the audio, and most people report that they are very happy in this regard with the RodeLink.

Where did you get the Rodelink for $399? Is the transmitter much larger than the black Sony UTX?

Thanks

Hi mate,

Found it at Sound Corp's ebay site.
They had it for sale for $449.00 but then there was some feature that if I bought it in the next 24 hrs they would take $50 off the price.
So I was wrapped to get it for this price.
I haven't seen the Sony UTX but I can verify that the transmitter is larger than ideal.
