Wireing LED lights for AC power?

I picked up a few inexpensive LED lights, the YN-160s and YN-300s . I picked them up really just to test them out and I have found that they are pretty handy lights to have. I modified all of the lights for stand mounting by drilling the bases and attaching regular spigots and using a universal umbrella adapter to put the lights on stands. The lights have been working out pretty good.

The lights are battery powered; with the YN-160s using 6 AA batteries and the YN-300s using Sony NP batteries. What I was wondering is how feasible do folks believe it would be re-wire the lights for AC power (Using an AC to DC adapter). What I was thinking was going into the lights (I have already done that to make them stand mountable) and wiring in a DC socket (in parallel to keep the battery power option also) that I could then plug in an AC to DC adapter ("Wall Wort" type plug) to. I had this done way back in the day when I had an AC adapter made for a Tascam Porta-Studio cassette recorder that I had bought used. It was actually a pretty simple wiring set up. What do you think? Where would I start to spec and price out the parts? Any links would be very handy. Now, I know, I know, I should buy better lights, but I just do not have the money for any more lighting gear at this time. Thanks.

Yeah, I have the lights that I have and am more interested in making them more functional than what other lights are might be available. I am not "Dissin' " the YN-160s or the YN-300s. They are what they are, and are some of the brightest common battery powered lights available for their price (While I posted links to the lights from Amazon.com, I bought my lights off of eBay for less money). The YN lights are perfectly functional as they are, I was just thinking about an off time project to make them more useful. Thanks.
