wired lavs suitable for 3.5mm portable recorders?

I am thinking of getting a zoom or a tascam or something of the lower-end (<$200) variety to record audio with the d7000 and it seems since they only support 3.5mm jacks, getting mics to level-match correctly is kind of tough.. with that in mind, i was wondering if people could just list some reasonably priced lavs for use with those devices.

The only thing that needs special attention is the plug-in power support. If your recorder has this, then virtually all lavs terminating with 3.5mm should be fine.
 
yeah the dr40 is one of the contenders certainly .. the d07 mk 2 seems a lot more portable though (granted w/o xlr, which is why i'm wondering if 3.5mm will do )
