wire removal

How would I go about removing wires from a shot? Rotoscoping?

I'm still planning, but I'm wondering if this is possible with someone who has no experience with AE.

It would mostly be static shots and maybe a few tracking shots.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks

For static shots it would be a simple procedure of putting a plate over the wire (assuming it's something that isn't moving, a wall for example.) And then probably some light painting when you get closer to the body.

If you have AE, they've got a wire removal filter. I've never used it, but I've heard it's pretty good. I would say that you could track a plate over the wire, or paint it out in each frame, if it's a faster/ quicker shot.

Just a few ideas.

thanks for the tips TC

the wires are pulling something. I was thinking (for static shots atleast) that I shoot one with the wires pulling the object, then an empty frame. Thn, matte them on top, using the clean frame to hide the wire.

Definitely going to try that wire removal filter.

Yep, that should do the trick!
