wire removal

how do you remove wire useing a mac. What programs will do this.

Any help would be helpful.

On a mac, you would use either Combustion, Shake, or After Effects. Shake is probably the best, but also the most expensive. AE is the cheapest, but for stuff like wire removal, isn't as well suited as the other 2, but it can get the job done, just a bit more diffucult.

The other thing is, is the shot locked down, or is it a moving camera ? Locked down shot, you might be crazy enough to attempt it in Photoshop. If not, you need the motion tracking abilities of those previously mentioned programs.

I think you can also use Commotion for wire removal. It's more specific in function than After Effects, and I believe it's less expensive. If memory serves, it has evolved from being a rotoscoping plugin for AE.

Commotion also runs on PC.

Combustion also is a PC app. Very nice app btw.

AE has a decent wire removal feature, plus its the cheapest.
