Wire Removal for Stunt work

This si in regards to After Effects 7.0 Pro

I have no experience with this and probably won't anytime soon, but I am certainly curious. When you key out Wires for stunt work, do you need to shoot clean background plates when not using green screen or is it simpler than that? Do you use CC Simple Wire Removal or different methods.

What I am basically asking is, how is it done w/o screens (blue or green) and with screens? Any tutorials on the web or sample footage so I could try it out?

Thanks in advance

Easiest way would be to have a clean background plate and mask out the wires. If you had movement, or a dolly shot, you may want to consider the clone tool or the CC simple wire removal (I've never used that one).

Best and easiest is always to have a clean back plate.

markcheng did a nice video where they did something similar, called Anatomy of a Shot. There is an example of getting rid of poles used to direct gun robots.

Hey Matt, I gotta say that I appreciate the immense help you have been to me. Virtually every question I ask you have answered with pretty much pin-point accuracy.

Thanks again.
