Wire or string for a mobile

Have a project im trying to start, wanting to build a mobile< i dont know if thats how you spell it> But im wondering if anyone who has built one who knows what gage of wire or string is used when suspending your objects. Should i look into Fishing tess or is there a thin enough wire that wont be noticeable to the best point i can make it. Suggestions or thoughts would be rad.

Depends totally on how heavy the hanging things are. You want the wire/string to be invisible? Fishing line is definitely worth investigating, as is 'invisible' mending thread. But both can be annoyingly visible due to reflecting lights. A lot depends also on your background - if you can make your wires/strings the same colour, that will help hide them a lot.

Or of course go the 'modern' way and remove the wire/string in post. But that can be a lot of work - try doing it in camera first.

If your object is light enough, you can get special thread from a magicians supply place. it comes as a black string, and you tease it out by hand and pull out single threads. Its very thin and almost invisible, and wont reflect light. it would be perfect for floating light objects, but its not that strong so dont try and float big things with it.
