Windsock for lavier mics

Hi,

I am going on a shoot where I am taking a ME66 (with Rycote windsock), and a couple of various Sony laviers including 44 and 88s.

For the most crucial parts of this video I will be outside and will be relying on the laviers for audio (lots of interviews). I am expecting some pretty bad wind and am looking at the best ways to combat it. In the past I haven't had the most luck with windsocks with laviers as I seem to still get wind noise even when I put on the windsocks. Should I look at higher grade (if there is such a thing) windsocks or is it something that lapels just do? If there are better windsocks, does anyone have any recommendations? Also, is there anything else I can do in terms of placement which might help out keep the wind noise down?

Thanks for your help,

Matt

The MicroCat is good too. Lavs just suck in the wind. If you can have them with their backs to the wind that helps. Sometimes even just tweaking their angle slightly will make a big difference.

Cheers
