Can someone (or Jarred) tell me who makes the windsock onboard mic seen in the Quickstream DV review and where I can get one? Thanks.

the one i have is a Mike Muff: http://www.mikemuff.com/. $40 direct from manuf. pretty nice, although a little loose on the mic. i haven't had a chance to shoot outdoors with it yet, so i can't tell you how well it works.

I made that one, actually from $5 fun fur, and it works fantastic. I actually have the mic muff as well, its really the exact same thing, but works great as well for people that cant sew :)

Jarred,

Where can I get this "fun fur"? I am handy enough with a sewing machine, and I figure if I screw up, whats $5?

Did you cut the fabric out any special way before sewing it up? I would imagine you want to make it as form fitting to the mic as possible, as if it moves it would introduce noise (right?).

walmart has some nice little swacthes of "faux fur" in their fabric department next to the craft stuff.. i think most walmarts are the same pretty much..so check one near you if there is one. the backing for it is thin woven cotton, and its purrrfect :P for what your trying to do .. same as fun fur.
