On a Mac, if you plug in an external drive, it automatically appears on the desktop. Is there a way to have that happen with a PC, so you don't have to navigate to "My Computer" and double click on the drive? Thanks.
You can create a shortcut to the drive and place it on the desktop, but it won't automatically appear and disappear. An extra icon usually isn't too obtrusive though.
And you can leave that shortcut there when the drive is diconnected. Unless you do something weird, the drive should show up with the same letter every time.
