Windows Media Player issue

I captured some 60i and 24P footage shot in letterbox. When I play them in Windows Media Player they play back in sqeeze mode (16:9). Has anyone run into this oddity? DVDs burned with this footage play fine.

I'm having the extact same problem. Can't figure it out. I posted in the general software forum and got no reply. It seems to be a Windows Media Player issue as the footage plays properly, like you said on DVD or in other software. It's annoying though!!!

Yeah, it's just Windows Media Player. For some reason it doesn't check the pixel aspect ratio data that's encoded into the AVI files.
