i'm trying to copy a 13 gig file onto an external hard drive that has 85 gigs of space available. but it keeps telling me the file is "too large for the destination file system. same thing with my other external hard drive which has 75 gigs of free space. any idea?

Was that hard drive calibarated for your pc? Or was it originally good for a mac?

if the external hard drive has not enough space on a partition, it would tell you that

its only been used with a PC. the message i get is "the file 'filename' is too large for the destination file system"

i just tried formatting one of the drives and i'm still getting the same message.

I had this problem b4 ...and what i did is just cut the big file into 2 files ....what i mean is the reason you cant move the files is couse 1 file is very big file ..so what you have to do is cut it in 2 or 3 files and then you will be able to move them..
